My name is Jennifer Compton, and I am an RCO Peer Support Specialist with over a decade of lived experience in substance use recovery and mental health.
My journey has given me a deep understanding of trauma, resilience, and the recovery process. I am a survivor of a five-year domestic violence relationship that led to substance use, homelessness, and significant mental health challenges.
After leaving that situation, I committed myself to both recovery and healing. I am also a proud mother of two boys who inspire me daily. I strive to teach them compassion, empathy, accountability, and the importance of understanding issues like mental health, substance use, and homelessness, while leading by example through my work in the community.
I believe no one should have to face their struggles alone, and that connection, understanding, and consistent support can be life-changing. In my role, I focus on building trust, empowering individuals to recognize their strengths, and supporting them as they work toward stability and personal goals.
My passion for helping others continues to drive my professional growth. I am currently pursuing my MSW to strengthen my clinical knowledge, advocacy skills, and trauma-informed approach, with the goal of providing compassionate, effective support and making a meaningful impact in the lives of those I serve.
