My name is Carrie and I work for RiteLife Services as a Peer Support Specialist and I am a certified WRAP Facilitator.
I spend my time mainly at our Respite which is a place that has 7 beds and is a temporary place for individuals to stay that are navigating the challenges of their current situation. During their stay at the Respite, I support them, and help them achieve their goals in recovery and wellness.

I don’t think of it as work because I myself had been in a crisis not too long ago and know the feeling of despair and hopelessness all too well. Today I am able to share my experience, strength and hope with the individuals I work with. Just by me showing up and being there to support them and the way I live my life today, is proof that there is a way out.

I love my job and the joy the individuals I work with bring me. They remind me every day to be grateful for what I have and that being kind and showing compassion and empathy for others doesn’t cost anything, but the benefits fill my heart and are priceless. As for the team of beautiful people I work with, I have never felt so much love and support from my co-workers in the past as I do from the people I work side by side with.

Last but not least, I am a mother of a beautiful, amazing young woman who is going to change the world. She fights for what she believes in and is passionate about being a voice for those who don’t have one or are not being heard. She is my world, my heart and my soul.
